Community Gardens

Our community gardens provide a place for people to grow healthy food. Working with nonprofit, private and municipal landowners, we transform underused spaces in our city into gardens. These gardens serve as hubs where people from diverse backgrounds learn from each other and build connections around growing food.

Demand is high, with over 1,000 people are on the waiting list for community garden plots in City of Portland program. In response to this need, we have approximately 200 plots available at three gardens in Portland this year:

East County Community Garden at 24375 SE Stark, Gresham, a partnership with the East County Church of Christ.

Eastminster Community Garden at NE 125th and Halsey, a partnership with the Eastminster Presbyterian Church.

Cesar Chavez Community Garden at SE Ellis Street and SE Cesar Chavez Avenue, a partnership with a private landowner.

Learn more how our gardens work, or sign up for a plot. We also need lead gardeners at two of our gardens.
